NEW TO SOUTHSIDE TABERNACLE BAPTIST CHURCH?

We are a Reformed Baptist Church. On July 13, 2025, Grace Community Church and Southside Tabernacle Baptist Church merged into one church under God. Although Grace and Tabernacle are churches rich in history, both churches realized that we are Better Together!

It is our mission to train and serve all people within our fellowship and to reach others in our community at large with the saving grace message of our Lord Jesus Christ. Declaring to our community the truth of the word of God is the highest privilege we have as representatives of Jesus Christ our Lord.

FIVE SOLAS OF THE PROTESTANT REFORMATION

We believe in the five Sola Statements of the Protestant Reformation.

SOLA FIDE

Faith Alone

Justification is by faith alone. The merit of Christ imputed to us by faith is the sole ground of our acceptance by God,

by which our sins are remitted.

Galatians 3:6-11

SOLA GRATIA

Grace Alone

Our salvation rests solely on the work

of God’s grace for us and in us.

God initiates and completes

the work of salvation in us.

Ephesians 1:3-8

SOLUS CHRISTUS

Christ Alone

Christ is the only mediator

(between God and man)

through whose work

we are redeemed.

1 Timothy 2:5-6; Colossians 1:13-18

SOLA SCRIPTURA

Scripture Alone

The Bible is the sole written divine revelation

and alone can bind the conscience

of believers absolutely.

Psalm 119:18; Psalm 138:2;

2 Timothy 3:14-17

SOLI DEO GLORIA

To the Glory of God Alone

To God alone belongs all the glory.

Romans 11:36

Ephesians 3:21

1 Peter 4:11

Revelation 7:12

They were continually devoting themselves to the apostles’ teaching and to fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to prayer.

Our Church Covenant

Having been led as we believe, by the Spirit of God to receive the Lord Jesus as our Savior, and on the profession of our faith, having been baptized in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit we do now in the presence of God, and this assembly most solemnly and joyfully enter into the covenant with one another as one body in Christ.

We engage therefore, by the aid of the Holy Spirit to walk together in Christian Love; to strive for the advancement of this church in knowledge, holiness, and comfort; to promote its prosperity and spirituality; to sustain its worship, ordinances, discipline, and doctrine; to contribute cheerfully and regularly to the support of the ministry, the expenses of the church, the relief of the poor and the spreading of the gospel through all nations; to maintain family and secret devotion; to seek the salvation of our kindred and acquaintances; to walk circumspectly in the world; to be just in our dealing, faithful in our engagements, and exemplary in our deportment; to avoid all tattling, backbiting, and excessive anger; to abstain from the sale and use of intoxicating drinks as a beverage; and to be zealous in our efforts to advance the kingdom of our Savior.

We further engage: to watch over one another in brotherly love; to remember each other in prayer; to aid each other in sickness and distress; to cultivate Christian sympathy in feeling and courtesy in speech; to be slow to take offense, but always ready for reconciliation, and mindful of the rule of our Savior to secure it without delay.

We moreover engage: that when we remove from this place, we will, as soon as possible, unite with some other church of like faith, where we can carry out the spirit of this covenant and the principles of God’s word.
